May 2009 - "Bar for sale"

Well guys and girls, May 2009 has been a disappointment...It has definitely quietened down in town and the surrounding areas. A lot of ex-pats have started to return back to their home country and others returning back to work.
Okay, on the flip side, there are many good deals to be had in the restaurants/bars, and with the weakness of the baht starting to kick in, people are feeling a little richer on their bottom line.
Plenty of the finer gogo establishments on Walking St have started to close down, and surely by the end of the year we will see plenty more.

Here's hoping I can maintain the interest in my bar to keep the staff happy, or maybe it'll be a case of "Bar for Sale"?

Oh and it hasn't stopped raining nearly all month which is giving the place a drab, horrible, grey, depressing feel...Welcome to the Land Of Smiles.

Surprisingly Busy?

The month prior was very quiet, in fact, probably our worst month in over 4 years. So imagine my glee when April took off like an F-16!

Songkran (The New Year/Water Festival) was a great help, bringing many tourists and ex-pats into the bar. This is due to the fact that Noi's bar only celebrates it on the final day, unlike the city where you'll get soaked to the skin for a period of 7 days. So, it just goes to show, people do like to take shelter in the month of April at Noi's.

All in all a good month had, apart from having four of the girls vacate the premises to go back to working at karaoke, all because they don't like farang, tsk tsk, what is there not to like *whistles*.

Let's hope May brings some of the same!

The start of the website

6th May 2009...Shout it from the roof tops, I finally got around to it.

It has only taken me 4 years and thanks to the kind people at yola.com it has been an 'easy' and 'free' exercise! Yes we now have a website.

Although it is in its infancy and looks extremely basic, as the days, months and years go by, I will endeavour to add more to the site and hopefully be able to extend my skills at working on the design of it too.

Any ideas will be welcomed and criticism alike, though don't expect everything to be taken into account.
